Women on Fire

In the opening concert, we will delve into the lives of Tosca, Manon, Arabella and her sister Zdenka, the Marschallin, Sophie and a certain Rosenkavalier, Wally, Ulrica, Lauretta, and many more. Well-known arias, duets, and trios, as well as captivating and moving instrumental pieces by female composers, will bring the world of diverse female emotions to life. Look forward to renowned soloists such as Lidia Baich on violin, the acclaimed Rosalinde from last year's "Die Fledermaus," Kristiane Kaiser, the Vienna State Opera mezzo-soprano Monika Bohinec, the winner of Elīna Garanča's "Voices of the Future" competition, Maja Triler, and Daniela Fally. ORF cultural commentator Teresa Vogl will guide the audience through the evening in her usual charming and humorous style, and the Beethoven Philharmonic will be conducted for the first time in Berndorf by a female conductor – the internationally active Austrian Elisabeth Attl!
