Beethoven's Leonore Overtures show how much headaches it caused some great composers to put a work into its final form. In this concert we play the penultimate version, which gives us a rare insight into Beethoven's "workshop" and his struggle for perfection. Franz Schubert's Symphony in E was only to receive a version when it was completed by the well known Austrian composer Richard Dünser, which finally secured the work a permanent place in the concert repertoire worldwide more than 200 years after it was written. The famous violin concerto by Mendelssohn is completely different, having quickly become one of the most played works of its genre since its premiere. Ziyu He, who already caused a sensation at his Baden debut in 2023, is considered one of the most outstanding young violinists of his generation!
