New Year’s Concert 2027

Experience the first sounds of the Beethoven Year 2027 at the New Year’s Concerts in the Großes Festspielhaus, with a programme focusing on Beethoven’s early works.
In two of Beethoven’s most beloved early compositions, the Romances for Violin, young Salzburg violinist Chiara Sannicandro joins the Beethoven Philharmonie under the direction of Thomas Rösner. With these two works, Beethoven created a new musical form centred entirely on the expressive qualities of the violin.
Simple and clear in form, the Romances unfold melodies of exceptional beauty – unpretentious, yet filled with touching lyrical intensity.
After the interval, the programme continues with joyful waltzes and polkas, looking ahead to the New Year with optimism and festive spirit.
